Has anyone used this, or heard anything about the kit?

I think I rememer seeing something similar in a mini magazine a while back but I can't find it!

Linky

Basically, would it help on cold mornings etc, I've never had a problem starting but just had a hire car for a week and loved the reliability!

Also, this sounds like a stupid question in my head so it probably is, but does the choke still work the same?

Interesting!

I may be wrong but I dont think you would still have a choke fuel injected cars dont have a choke

The ECU seems to be similar to megajolt, but alot more expensive.

I wonder if u could buy just the throttle body/manifold and run the setup by megajolt.

I wouldnt mind finding out myself, I might email and see if its possible.

Thats what I thought about the choke but I wasnt sure, and from the videos I can only see one cable aswell and its the throttle cable..

£959 didn't seem to bad to me, considering there's probably a reason why they used the said setup..

If you do email them let me know what you find out!

Megajolt is only for mappable ignition, you would need megasquirt or Specialist Components own ECU that comes with the kit to run the fuel injection. Also, no choke as it's fuel injection.

Very cool not seem that before but it ends up being £1178 including posting eeek but it does look very well made and bet it makes it much more reliable.
Anyone bought this yet?

I saw on there it has fast idle lever so basically something that holds the throttle open a bit for cold starts, wonder where it goes in dash etc? or uses choke cable maybe

Surely they can't charge that much for postage?

Edit: I assume you mean VAT?

Yep sorry VAT and postage, still looks very nice all cnc machined and all with fuel rail and two injectors imagine it work very well
and be tuneable, this sorta money is getting on for a super charger though as well!

I am also very interested in the kit and emailed them a week ago and have not heard back yet. I was looking at buying 3 kits.... I like the idea, yea it's a bit of money, but I think it has the potential of a fantastic upgrade. I just saw it in Mini Mag last month, and have tried doing a search for installs/reviews and I guess it is to early to find anything yet. I have only found 1 person that has installed it, and posted photos. Hopefully it will perform as well as it looks.

I dont remember seeing it in mini mag will look later. I have to say it seems pretty good value in some ways when you get like megajolt set up as well to replace timing to.
Where was the pics of someones install?

It was not an install article, it was just an add. I did some research on the web and someone on minifinity had a picture. Here is the thread with SC replying:

http://efiminis.olic...php?topic=702.0

"Looking at the position of injectors first - we've placed them back so that they fire at the "plenum" in the front of the manifold. We have done this to provide the best fuel density to the incoming air - see the video on our front page for impressive "fogging" effect, they fire 4 times per cycle and effectively make an electronic carb with massive flow potential - as shown by matching the top end on a race engine with a Weber - what a Weber won't do though is pull what under dyno laod at 1500rpm on this race spec engine - or produce the torque at part throttle/mpg/efficiency etc. We picked this engine as the toughest to match anything less than this spec will produce even more spectacular results at the bottom/mid range. What we didn't set out to do was "fix" the 5 port - that why we have the 7 port and 16v! what we did aim to do was offer massive benefits over a carb be it an sU or Weber in terms of torque/efficiency/power with all the niceties of FI.

Dumb question, but can you install the trigger wheel on the crank without pulling the engine? I guess you would at minimum have to pull the radiator? The rest seems fairly straight forward, just bolt on, and kinda go.

Thanks very much for the pics and text sounds really good and looks amazing on so little to it as well.
An electric fuel pump of higher rating be needed as well by looks of it.

I have wondered same for getting bolt out crank pulley, I am guessing at least the rad and lower rad bracket will need removing.
I was going for a megajolt set up just for better ignition etc but this includes that as well, then was going to go blow through S/charger
by slark engineering though not heard much about that since Bingley hall.

When I fitted my trigger wheel I took the radiator out but did it with the engine in the car with a fixed steel front end i think I undone the engine mount and jacked the engine up slightly
