on a private road, my old 998 had 96mph on a tomtom, don't know how accurate that was!! but it was downhill.
that was with heated inlet manifold, 3 into one manifold, rc40, metro carb, electro ignition. the rest unknown. it's dead now...
think it's pretty much as fast as you can stand the noise.

Yes, if you like. To do 100 mph on the level in still air requires about 80 bhp and gearing that gives 100 bhp at revs for that max power.
If that is what your car has, then it will do 100 mph. If not, then it won't

You should try my historic rally Cooper 'S' at 6800 rpm in 4th gear on slightly bumpy gravel in a forest which is about 97 mph.

On my way to the IMM in Germany last year I saw 99mph on an autobahne. This was on the GPS not the speedo! The speedo was showing 122mph

100mph from a standard 998 Clubman (Assuming its the car in your sig)? I think not. The 1275GT could only manage 90mph standard.

I can get 70 on a GPS (75 on speedo) without too much difficulty on a level road. I reckon I could get it up to 85 on the clock, not sure what that would be on speedo, probably about 75-78ish. But, it's a road car, so I don't need more than 70. Plus it will guzzle fuel at 70, so I've started to keep it down to around 50-60 on the dual carriageways. Standard 998, no performance mods whatsoever.
