Can someone please explain to me what the difference between an RC40 and an RC50 is, apart from the huge price hike ???

Am I completely barking or is this just what I would call Marketing Bo***x to sap more pennies out of the unsuspecting average Joe on the street ?

So explain to me why I can buy a Stainless RC40 from minispares.... and have been able to for as long as I can remeber... ???

STAINLESS STEEL SIDE EXIT LARGE TAIL PIPE REAR SILENCER

The popular RC-40 exhaust system has been updated for the year 2000. All retain the optimum size 1.75" tubing for maximum performance and efficiency, but we now offer a choice of tailpipe size and configuration. In addition, they now have stainless steel pipes for better appearance an rust resistance. A Front pipes come either "straight through" for use only with the rear muffler, or with a built-in resonator for quieter twin-box systems. Order front and rear pipes seperately to create your own system. All tail pipes are highly polished with rolled edges. Stainless steel front pipe direct to rear muffler for single box system.

I believe at one point MiniSpares were offering the RC40 Millenium, which was a stainless version of their RC40, to compete with this other companies started making the RC50, which is their own stainless version of the RC40.

If you had searched GW you've would have found the answer!

The thing is... RC40 is a design ( Competition Silencers not Minispares ) not just a label... so what does RC50 mean in exhaust technology design... naff all..

Surely deisgn incorporates material as well. Like if BMC made a cylinder from iron, and also made an alloy on, wouldn't they both have different casting numbers?

A Front pipes come either "straight through" for use only with the rear muffler... sounds like my new Maniflow!
