Edit: I'd change the title of this thread as there is a great little company in Leicester called A-series spares. Who, I assume, are not the offending party.

No, I agree A-Series Spares are a great company with a good reputation-and most definately not the company in question. They even sponsor DCMOC.co.uk (see below)

It is definitely not the one in Leicester. 'A series specialist' is referred to, as this is what the offending party reckons he is and advertises as.

Hi, just waiting for the court date to come through. All I know is that he is contesting it. Strange considering he originally admitted liability by offering a very low part refund. I'll keep you posted.

Hello,

Thank you for clearing that up, it is nice that we have a good reputation. There are a couple of members in the mini scene that are still awaiting a central locking update from us but apart from that we are golden >_<

(To any members who we owe the update to, we are very sorry, we are still chasing the engineering firm who are making them, it is taking forever and we are sorry!)

I am sorry to hear of your troubles and i hope you get it all sort!

Rob

Not again, surely this has to stop. How many more engines are going to come out of there and fail before they realise that they're not so Smart engines and definatly lack Performance.

Hi there, Update on the court case. As I elected to go to small claims court, it's best to tick the 'I am willing to use the HM court mediation service' box. So it didn't go to court in the end ( which i was pleased with, as I was holiday on the hearing date!) I'm not allowed to go into details, but suffice to say I'm pleased with the result, so I'll leave you to come to your own conclusions ;-)
One thing this situation has taught me is, document everything. I tell you one thing,( just incase) I'll be keeping my extensive court case archive box file (if anybody else needs help).
Thanks to all who gave me statements, emails, factual and anicdotal. Engineering reports and the legend that is Mr Calver.

from what he put above, Calver took the engine apart and basically went through it with a fine tooth comb.

and made, by the sounds of it, a rather large list of faults.

Hi Keith, basically confirmed some of the issues for me, how unsafe things were and how things should have be done. Nothing major, but he always responded to my questions and considering how busy he is, it was much appreciated.
