It's only their high profile plus idiotic journalists that prevent them from serving on the front line.

Didn't Harry say that he wanted to stay out in Iraq or where ever he was posted, but couldn't?

Again due to his profile with him serving in hot zones would make him and people around him a massive target. He managed to serve i believe 10 weeks before he was outed by a journalist. He wanted to stay but due to the circumstances he had no choice but to leave.

no offence but they are all massive targets, stick him in a helemt, give him a bergen with some webbing and he'd look just like any other soldier. only ginger.

if they wanted him to remain hidden (from the media) on front front line i dont think it would be difficult.

I agree with what you are saying but all it takes is one loose tongue so to speak then what. Can you imagine the furore if that happened and the damage it could potentially do not just to him but the armed forces in general. Its demoralized enough as it is especially now with these latest cuts. At least he wants to be out there and not hiding behind his family.

Its the powers that be that are preventing him and William from going to the front line. The pressures involved are ridiculous and no matter what you do you cannot win.

thats very true, but you do have to wonder who is preventing him??

again traditionally, being a royal he'd be on the front line, they will be a target royal or not, a leader of men always will be (even not in war situations).
maybe now they dont wish to "take the helm" so to speak when THEIR contryman are led into war. to have people fighting for you and your family, regardless of the conflict, arguably they should be there and getting stuck in.

to argue it is too dangerous is a cop out, it is after all a war.

The problem with these latest wars is the non stop reporting by the press and other agencies. The process of being able to keep a secret is now becoming outdated. Harry is a leader of men, he has voiced quite loudly about being at the front but is being prevented by the officials in charge. Given the chance he would be out there like a shot whether its flying choppers or on the ground.

It is easy for us to debate the merits of their serving their country on the front line. Personally i would not want to go to war again. Once was enough for me and even then we suffered at the hands of politicians not giving us the kit we needed straight away plus other things.

I say let them go but if you were serving next to either Wills or Harry and some blabber mouth said where they were serving you may find where you were was reasonably hot now turned into a hell hole as the enemy tried to capture or kill them.

it saddens me im 18years old and i can see our so called great Britain is crumbling beneath the the less well off and we have no way of stopping it.

thats very true indeed, sadly. the kind of reporting that exposes these things is completely pointless.
fair play to him for wanting to get and stay out there. its nice to hear from people who served with him, showing that he wasnt out there trying to gain some kudos, and he was actually getting stuck in.
maybe royals being out there isnt the best idea, he may be a bigger target but, in reality he is no more important than any other serving personal.

ive enjoyed this sonikk, thank you. im off to work shortly and i will be smiling. :)
