My car is on there and I'm none too impressed with it. A friend text me earlier to tell me about it. I assume the person that posted it is a member on this site too since he took the picture of my car off here.

Sorry I realise that I'm probably not supposed to laugh at this (being a mini lover and all that), but that has to be one of the most amusing things that I have read in a long time. My absolute favorite comment being "A whole host of rusty death-traps, and some of them even being driven!"

I didn't think that the comment about your car "It was a very nice Mini until recently when it was transformed into it's OTT girlyness" was too bad either, I reckon it could have been a lot worse judging by some of the other comments on there. I think you probably shouldn't take it so seriously and just laugh along with it instead, otherwise by getting upset you are just "playing into their hands" as it were. As the website slogan itself quite harshly, but truthfully says "Barryboys.co.uk If you can't take a joke, don't drive one". I'm not calling your car a joke by the way, it's just that you can't realistically expect to modify a car in that way and not expect a few indvividuals to make a few "wise cracks" about it.


... and I'm fairly sure that you can use TMF as a guest, so it really wouldn't take much for pretty much anyone to come on here, copy the picture links and then repost them on another site, it wouldn't necessarily need to be a TMF member .... and no that doesn't mean that it was me either!!

Yeah that's fair enough, I was more annoyed that they'd taken a picture of my car off here and posted it on some random forum. Some of the other comments on the other pictures annoyed me more than the comment on my own. It riles me when people don't have respect for other people's hard work. Plus I am in a very argumentative mood and they have provided me with the perfect way to let off some steam. I did chuckle at the "A whole host of rusty death-traps, and some of them even being driven" bit though

Think my forum name might give it away a bit. Don't know why you think the picture was taken off here. I took it with my phone. As I said on BB you've thrown your toys out the pram for some hardly offensive comments saying I shouldn't post pictures without your permission. Odd that the thread was completely dead and ignored until you bumped it. Well done.

And if it makes you feel better, post another picture of my Mini. It's on here too, old news, and really doesn't bother me. Knock yourself out.

Leave them to it, barry boys is made for people that lust upon other peoples cars because they all drive Vauxhalls and Fords (poor sods). The way they vent their frustration because of their poor choice in cars is by taking the p**s out of other peoples cars.
If their pass time is going to car shows deliberately to take pictures of cars they 'dislike' to post on that forum, then thats their problem.

And besides Kimberley, your car was on TV at L2B, be proud of that and ignore the jelous ones

ah the number of times we hear that, classic. You couldn't be much further from the truth I'm afraid. It's just a car enthusiasts forum where opinions are given on certain styles and level of modification. A lot if not most members drive modified cars, a lot drive classic cars, quite a few even have Minis. We often take the piss out of each other and our cars, we just have a thick enough skin to deal with the fact some people don't agree with us. We don't lose sleep over it, neither are we at all jealous of the cars that get posted in Barry Car Photos & Discussion. We have another thread for that called something along the lines of Cars We Wished We Owned. Shock horror, a few nice Minis have been posted in their. All is fair on Barryboys.

I havent observed the website and I wouldnt wish to as of yet, because I dont find it necessary to take the mick out of something that someone has probarbly worked very hard at to achieve. When I do feel the need to stoop that low, i'll be sure to come along and check it out.
Until then, i'll continue appreciating the different styles that are applied to all varieties of cars which is IMO the point behind car shows, argument finished!
Now please head back over to the barry forum and leave it there.
