I'll keep searching about modding a 998! One company said if it was modified it would actually be cheaper so....who knows lol!

17, Modified SPi Cooper £1800
18, heavily modified 1275 1yr NCB £900
19, 1.7 Volvo Coupe 2yr NCB 6 points £1000 (car was only worth £250)
now, 2.0 turbo Saab cabriolet, not garaged, 3yrs NCB, 6 Points, very high mileage £1400
It pays to take that first plunge, I saved all year for my first quote, if I didn't have points my insurance would have kept going down, my friends all have relatively high costs becuase they started on their parent's insurance as named.
EDIT: that's very brief, ages and costs may differ slightly... lol

I'll try peter james tomorrow, but got a feeling that im probably going to have to get a 998 and do what i can to improve performance without the insurance rocketing!

in the end i went with kwikfit car insurance, 6000miles per year fully comp and the price i paided was £593

266 or 276 cam would be a good choice, also, get a copy of David Vizard's "Tuning the A series engine".

not sure what's going on with insurance at the moment got a quote online for a 1.8 mx5 was only £1400 and a civic vti 160bhp is the same price which i thought was a very good considering my age, makes no sense atall!
