I will suggest that for welding you have to use so many tools regarding your usage. Welding accessories, plastic welders,1/2" drive click stop torque wrench, plasma cutters,Arc welders,12 piece assorted length elastic tie down etc.

I suggest that this is spam and as such its not allowed on this forum.

Something new to add to the panel clamp part of the tooling from alex-95.

If you have not seen these before they are called ezy earth clamps usually used for earthing stainless steel sinks, but are very handy for clamping panels together. They are very good because they are much smaller than bodyclamps and mole grips. They are about £1 each so are cheaper than normal clamps. Here is a web site from where you can get them www.eleconline.co.uk , but you can probabily get them from electical wholesalers.

Hi,

Good info.

In your photos you refer to a joggled piece of metal. I can see that its two bends, one below the other to introduce a kink, but how did you do it on a larger piece of metal like the one in your photo?

Thanks,

RodAndTom

What make Joggling tool would you recommend? There are lots on offer at around £50 - I don't want to buy junk.

Thanks,

Hi guys,

don't know if any of you are interested etc but i have recently got a new respirator for welding, its the 3m 7500 series. 7501 - small, 7502 - medium, and 7503 for large, these are half masks with changable filters! the best part about these masks is that they fit under atleast my welding mask speedglass 100v and i know they fit under the 9100 series too! very good buy IMO quite cheap aswell.

also if any of you are fed up for welding spatter from going down ur neck and in your ears when your welding the underside of a car the 3m welders hood for about £25 is a top purchase i use mine pretty much all the time and yeas the respirator also still fits around this too :) hope this helps guys.

sorry for commendearing your thread neil :)

I have had the joggler for a long time now and cannot remember where i bought it from. The hole punch in it is very small so not really ideal for plug welding.

a good mig is essential, time and patience, the right wire usually 0.6 or 0.8 for cars, always use gas not the gasless rubbish,co2 cheaper but argon mix reduces spatter and less voltage needed, grips are handy for clamping metal,,clawgrips,c grips, etc, drill with wire brush or belt sander if your posh, grinder with slim cutting stones makes cuttin easier,4 inch grinder with backing pad for sanding is neater and quicker.i use a 10s welding glass in my shield.make sure you have good clean metal and if your dealing with rust cut it out otherwise pointless.

Thanks for taking the time to post this very useful information. The pics of the pulse welding are a great insight into what I need to achieve before I start welding on our car.

Again thanks, this post has saved me a lot of time.

Pete
