Wouldn't mind a camper resto project myself - I know the missus would love a camper! I wonder if she would let me have the pennies and teh time to do it.... :)

After ages of searching, we found a replacement roof the monstrosity that it came with!

So, consider this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Splitscreen-Camper-rust-free-roof-Westfalia-SO42-original-/271164415219?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f22a89cf3

£1,199 ...! O_O

We found this:

The flapping in the wind was the worst bit!

But no bends, no dents and no kinks! It does need some work, admittedly - but over £1000 saved? I think so! :D

Nice and with it being that high that should stop the toerags from vandalising it as well.

I really hope so! It'll only come out in summer for holidays or days I just fancy taking it to work!

Other than that, it'll all be locked up - plus fitted with a tracker & probably ultrasonic motion sensors, just incase anything does happen to the roof, it'll set the alarm off.

Colour scheme decided! :shifty:

Just awaiting a bodyshop quote!

Supposed to be going down to do some work on it tomorrow, so will grab some clearer photos then.

Lots to be done! :-)

Love it! Was very nearly in the same position myself. We had to sell our 68 early bay to pay off debts and pay for house renovation before daughter was born. Very nearly bought a project from Schofield's down the road, but bought 2 more minis instead for some reason :)
