if it was brake fluid wouldnt u notice the lack of stopping power as there would be air in the system, causing poor performance?? but i dont advise u to test the theory unless u are russ swift in diguise and can handbrake turn it to stop!!

Well my brakes have always been poor, so I probably wouldn't notice the difference!
I've had a cup under the leak for a while and its not really leaking today for some reason...
....this may suggest that it's rain water collected after driving in the wet.... but then why the hell is it rainbow coloured!!
Oh I'm so confused.. :erm:

Run your hand under the bottom of the brake drum where it meets the back plate. Any sign of fluid here and you will need to replace the brake cylinders and shoes. It is not uncommon for the cylinders to leak. I've had four minis of varying ages and all four had leaky wheel cylinders.
Might actualy be worth removing the wheel and drum to check all is well with the rear brakes as leaky cylinders don't always show until it gets severe.
Another thing, does your gearbox/ engine drip oil?

I would of thought that if the cylinders were leaking, it would drip down on to the wheel, not the floor (obviously I don't know if there are spacers?). If its leaking brake fluid I'd say the tee piece where the line hits the subframe, saying that, I can't see that being a common place for leaks?

Thanks jammy and mini_sprocket,
I'm going to have a proper look at the car tomorrow morning to see what exactly is going on. If I still can't find where the leak is coming from then the cooper's going to get a right good kicking..
Cheers. Guy.

Ok, incase you're interested... it was brake fluid leaking out the the rear drum. I'll replace the cylinders tomorrow morning and problem solved!
