haha nooo, i understand that :P

its a really pointless question im trying to ask really but i ment, the rca splitter makes it go from one cable to 2, so what i mean is if enough signal is transfered into just one cable(before its split into two again) why does it go to two atall :) ?

so why is an rca cable, 2 cables instead of just one single:) ?

Stereo! One cable for left and one for right!!!!

Please try a bit harder, I'm starting to think your just trolling...

To be honest if you dont know that RCA cables are stereo, i would be paying someone to do the install for you.

Haha:) how much difference would it make amping the front components?

Also, I've read a few topics and from what I've understood, it's okay to have an amp more powerful than the speakers because you just have it turned down a little:)? Can you just confirm this:)? Thanks:)

Amping your components will make a massive difference over head unit power.

And yes, it's fine to have an amp rated better RMS than the speakers, just set the gains right.

Nah it's all standard man:p

1 more question actually, what does better quality speaker wire do as such? Does it just allow you to go greater distances without loosing quality?

Thanks:)

Try going down to one of the local car audio shops you have near you and talk to the staff, they should be able to answer all your questions plus you can actually see the equipment they are talking about. Or register (for free) on Talk Audio and start reading all the info on there.

so i got my dash all finished and fitted today, and just wired the speakers up to the head unit :tumble:

i was pretty amazed at how good they actually sound just running of the head unit power !

i have also bought a nice small little amp to power my components now, which is 40 watts rms (same as speakers) and 200 watts peak.

so i was just wondering, since i have never heard(or realised i was listening too) a set up with an amp for components, what difference will i notice over without the amp and what it sounds like now?

thanks

Simply: It will be louder with less distortion and more control of the speakers.

ooooo i can't wait !! ;) when i'm still talking of relatively low power(40rms-200peak watts) for the amp, if i connect the amp to the head unit with speaker wire (it has the ability to do both speaker wire and rca) will i notice the diffence between using speaker wire and an rca cable?

i only ask because i have bundles of good quality speaker wire, but no rca cable or rca splitters....yet:P

Don't use the high level inputs unless you absolutely have to.
A set of RCA's are a few quid do it right the first time...
