I'm 17 and my insurance will be £1200 fully comp. Considering it's a 1.4 thats pretty good, a quote on a Mini city I was getting £1400.

One thing I would say though, don't go for the 114 like I have. My insurance would be £300 cheaper (almost the car) if I had gone for an Ascot or other 100 model.

Her brakes are completely rubbish. My dad said he wouldn't trust them at all if somebody pulled out infront of us... I already knew that they needing replacing when I bought it anyway
So I spent a bit on Brakes on that auction site...

Also a nifty CD player, a steal at £50.

Minijosh92 took her for a spin after our convoy stopped at mine from Gaydon Mini festival. We discovered that the 'L' gear means 'loud' but makes no change in performance!

Took the rubber side strips off one side and fixed a few niggles.

We stopped at a scrappy whilst at Gaydon on Saturday (shopping for BBQ food...) and I got a set of headlamps and a new grille. Out of 6 Metros, 1 had the GTI spoiler but the screws were completely nackered so we couldnt get it off!
I havnt done much else since I'm waiting for ebay bits to come!!

I must say, the Rover Metro is a bargain at the moment. One thing I never understood though, in all the years the Metro was produced by BL- they rotted everywhere but the rear arches. When Rover created the 100, they took all the rust.. and moved it backwards to the rear arches!!
I feel left out now, Josh has a Maestro, you have a Metro- I might have to weld up the Montego Countryman we have languishing at work
