You have a different car everytime Jordie!

The electrical problem is fixed! It's a Mini so you never know!

The problem turned out to be the multi-plug socket on the left-hand side of the engine compartment earth location. I can now drive it with the lights on!! :D

Thanks ZEBERDEE. Yeah, the almond green is not a common colour. It's part of the retro themed versions styled on the 60's models.

That electrical problem was frustrating! The problem you have described with your Cooper sounds very similar, glad you got it sorted.

With the eletrical problem solved, I took the supercharged Cooper Sport out for a drive on Sunday. Obviously, with a wash a clean prior to a sunny afternoon drive.

The clear rear lamps have now been changed back to standard. The idle air control valve needs relocating to correct the high idle. The supercharger makes a difference!

Alex.

My 1998 Rover Mini Cooper Sportspack 1275cc Mpi. Sold in August 2010.

The Tahiti Blue 1998 Rover Mini Cooper 1275cc Mpi was purchased March 2008 for 900. It came with 58K miles and 4 previous owners including 3 months MOT and 6 months TAX. The main purpose for this car was to become my new daily driver to reduce the mileage and damage on my Almond Green 1997 Rover Mini Cooper.

The Tahiti Blue pearlescent paint finish cost an additional 265.
The Webasto electric sunroof cost a further 795.
The Sports pack kit that included 6x13 inch wheels and arches totalled 795.
The car was fitted with light stone beige Monaco interior.

The engine and gearbox was rebuilt by Green and Whites due a previous owner or a specialist making an ass out of the engine rebuild! The modifications included a stage 2 Maniflow LCB and stainless steel big bore exhaust, wavy grille with quick release grille buttons, over-riders and refurbished 7x13 super light alloys wrapped in Yokohama 175/50/13 A539 tyres.

I built a Mini model to replicate this particular Mini Cooper as shown in the photographs above using a standard Corgi model as pictured beside the modified version.

Alex.

Hi mate, what pack did you get to make it like a Sportspack? Considering purchasing it for mine.

Cheers.

Can a forum moderator please move this topic to the section titled, 'Any Other Projects'?

Don't know if this is worth updating? There's plenty more interesting topics to read on this forum!  Anyway, a new addition was purchased in March 2013. A 1972 Austin Mini van.

  • Washer bottle

  • New door mirrors to replace useless bullet mirrors as pictured above (now fitted)

Thanks. :-)  The pickup was nice, fast and noisy! It was fun to own at the time. I had just sold my Clubby GT and had a pocket full of cash! I had too many Mini's and my Mpi Mini was more practical for everyday use.

Thanks 'jamesmpi'. It's not a restoration project therefore it doesn't require a thread I suppose!

A few alterations have been made to the van. First off...it passed the MOT with no advisories!

  • The cobra bucket seats were replaced with new seats similar to the original versions

  • A set of new 10x5 Mamba alloys with Yokohama AO32R tyres have been purchased

  • The 10" crossply tyres were scary in dry conditions so some 12" steelies were temporarily put on for the North East Mini Mania show debut

  • A new splash shield and washer bottle have also been fitted

  • A new 12" Mountney steering wheel has replaced the original Mk2 bus wheel.

  • And a good clean for the show as pictured below!

New seats and clean interior for NEMC show - Yeah, majic wands are crap!

  • The roof rack is being dropped off at the powder coaters next week. We can't decide on a colour!

Thanks for lookin'
