What would finish it off nicely is some chrome trim around the door window frame(like the rileys and coopers)

I was just thinking that yesterday! Will keep an eye out for any for sale.
Fitted the red carpet today, looks great and gives it a more luxurious look inside.
Started cutting the holes for the speakers in the door cards as well.

It made it to Wales and back, but did seem to misfire and hesitate a few times on the way back. Looks like the coolant temperature sensor might be faulty, so will be replacing that once it arrives.
Also going to replace the thermostat and gaskets when they arrive, as the gasket has perished and is leaking a little.
Fitted a pair of grille and buttons and quick release bonnet hinges, so now it's much easier to work on the front end.
Next I'll be painting the Metro door pockets black and cutting the holes for the speakers in the door cards.
After that I think I'm going to just leave it as it is for now, as it's pretty much looking how I want it. Sure that won't last long!

The earth strap was the first problem, so whipped that out and it was fine for a couple of days.
Then the coolant temperature sensor decided to die, luckily I had already bought a new one to replace it so will be taking off the inlet manifold tonight.
Also fitted the new thermostat and gaskets, but not really had a chance to test the car and see if it's still overheating. Could be related to the temperature sensor, I'm not sure.
Painted the Metro door pockets in gloss black, I must say they look great! All fitted and wired up to the radio now.
Once it actually starts again and it's not dark, I'll get it out of the garage and take some up to date photos.

Are metro door pockets the ones with the speakers built in? If so, what size speakers do they take?

Yay for chasing around a cooling issue!!

Yeah they've got speakers, not sure what size they are though.
They look like the same as these ones but now in black...

It seems to be starting and running fine now, but need to take it for a test drive and make sure I put everything back in the right place!

Finally took some up to date photos of the interior.

Here's the newly painted Metro door pockets.

I seem to be taking these bits off a lot at the moment!

Needs a good clean at some point.

That photo doesn't even show the link pipe to the cat/de-cat pipe, which is straight though as well!
