matrix i saw your carbon shelf in your project page, it looks mint, im going to be fitting mine this weekend!
ive got jason coming round to finsih the cage off over the weekend, so im looking forward to that, then i can start on the dash!

Lol, not quite the same as this project then!!brillient project, im doing roughly similer to you without the engine and with a more people friendly outlook, eg has some but little sound proofing, some carpets and rear seats. however carbon everything else....apart from roof as my roll cage isent weld in so it wont stiffen the shell well.

big thanks again to milamber who spent another day welding in my car, its really getting there now i feel like the car is really taking shape!

here are a few pictures
the seat frame is in final position, and has been part welded in too!
ive also sanded my carbon shelf to size so now im itching all over, what a bloody nightmare!

all i can say is good luck, id seen your project before! such a shame about all that filler.
oh, i threw a fit, a full on wobly, i was not best please but onwards and upwards, at least i know that area is solid.
nice parcel shelf, can i thieve your idea?

i had to make a template, mark out the carbon, cut excess off with a fine jig saw blade and then about an hour and a half of itchy sanding by hand.
oh its not just sheet its a proper curley carbon item, sheet would not be thick enough when i cut the shelf away.
