oh i dident realise that.i thought it was just to hide whats underneeth, but youve cut it away and made it part of the firewall, however i cant see it saveing too much weight. i may do this but cut out strips as opposed to the whole shelf.

cheers beany you know you love the lupo!

baldspeed the cage is mega, but its going to be a fair old while before i paint it, its going to be dry built first.

luke the shelf is going to be bolted and bonded into place!

fg2002, nothing on the car is just "cosmetic", FG or carbon it would have been fitted, the shelf is there for weight saving, but more importantly when sealed in it creates a fire wall in the event of crash the keep the fuel in a separte compartmant.

sorry if that sound like a rant, but im building a race car not a road car.

yer i know, i was thinking of doing it but leaveing like two or three braces it a little bit more in shape if you crash however, if someone is going to hit me hard enough to do that ammount of damage that it would push that bit out of place, the car is going to be written off anyway, ill be alright because of the cage anyway.

whats your target weight just out of curiosity, im guessing sub 500kg

dident think of that lol

well i guess the cage is about 40kg, and the turbo manifolds ect posible about 60, to be honest.

the don is at 460 i think sub 570 then is easily achivable.

would you mind takeing a piccie of the inside of your doors please.

im sticking to my 600kg
