Watching clips from Croydon on the news, I didn't realise the scale of it at first! Can't believe the amount of people jumping on the bandwagon to cause havoc in their own communities.. I know a man was killed, but seriously?

It's just disgusting! -People- and 'gangs' taking what they like (can't be bothered to work to afford to buy)

I hope anyone caught up in it is alright

its spread to birmingham city centre aswell as surrounding areas, (kingstanding, handsworth, kingsheath, chelmsley wood).

the police cant do much. although theyve shut down the mobile network (for blackberry messenger) so they cant contact each other.

seems the best place to be is the job centre as it'll be quiet there!

The people doing this have, in my opinion, are worthless. They are nothing but a drain on the country. It's not about anything other than them being too thick to know better. If I were PM I would order the Army to take no prisoners on the streets of this country.

Who cares about the big corporations?

Small family owned buisnesses are the ones which suffer... :/

Birmingham roits are just thugs looking for an opportunity to steal... Stupid materialistic youths

...Indignation...

im not defending them far from it but if you think its that easy to earn a living these days you have your head in the sand i was made redundant 2 month ago i have a good education and can't get a job anywhere and i am angry at the governments (now and prievious) so can understand there how people could be driven to this, but most r just mindless idiots.

Who cares about the big corporations?

I do. Why should they be treated any different?

Thug on the telly just now stated, "I am getting my taxes back" by stealing from Curry's.. It beggars belief how thick people are.

It's terrible, a very close friend lives in croydon where its all happening, and she can't get back to her own home because off all the rioters and stuff

I echoe what's been said, the army should just be called in and then the rioters will have one choice, give themselves up or be shot, simple as that as then it means they can be prosecuted for the damages that have been caused :@

i really do believe the police should be aloud to get "Gene Hunt" with these idiots.

Gene Hunt - rough and physical. i do genuinely feel the police should be aloud to be proactive rather than reactive in these cases.

So if these people are doing because theres no jobs, why are they attacking the people that employ them? By putting people out of buisness then theres gonna be even less jobs?

The sad fact is the reason it started is soon forgotten and the media attention they get prolongs it .....it then becomes attention seekers and oppotunists!!
