A little bit more progress today while I had a spare hour again.

I managed to get the nuts undone on the shock absorbers. It turns out that they're not imperial after all but rounded 14mm ones. Mole grips did the job in the end. The subframe was now free!!

It looks in really good condition and should come up like new after a clean and re-paint-

The heel board looks in fairly good nick as well-

Which is more than I can say about the rear valence, which fell off. -

So, yeah, I guess it's about time to crack out the power tools. Apprehensive would probably be the word that sums up the way I'm feeling best.

Nice one, you're already winning our race.

Heel boards look quite solid. Hope mine look as good when it comes to taking the subframe off

Only on the rear end though. You've got the engine out of yours already.

I might drop the engine out of mine next, anything to put off the body side of things!

Yeah I took jim's engine out so it can't count as part of the race. Looks like I'm going to have to follow this build now

I've spent a few hours stripping it over the last couple of nights. It's pretty much all done apart from the dash and engine now. So things are still progressing at an ok rate.

Also I found something that I was keeping an eye out for on ebay. A last minute bid later and I was the proud owner of this-

I believe this to be the correct interior for my colour (original colour not green) and year 1275GT. I'm really impressed with it, I just need to find someone who's selling a brown drivers side rear quarter card now, as it didn't come with one.

Thanks for looking, Dave :)

I've got the same interior in my '78 1000, although its the slightly lighter variant

Such a 70's look

Same interior as mine, it's a shame some numpty has ruined the door cards by putting speakers in the doors. But I have a cunning plan :-)

I've also bought a new Mig welder and 200 ltr compressor and various other bits and bobs that will help with the overhaul of the Min. All I need to do now is get a electrician in to check over the electrics in the garage and make sure they're up to the job of powering the welder.

Well it took a while but I finally got around to getting this done this week. I now have power for the Welder and Compressor   :D

I also went and bought a good condition roof on Saturday as the one I bought in the past wasn't really much better than the rotten one on the car. I'll also be picking up some rear panels this Saturday, so fingers crossed, things look like they're about to start progressing.

Hopefully over the weekend I'll have some boring photos of practice welds for you all to laugh at
