there was quite alot of standard cars going round last year... just one thing i would bear in mind, its all right handers really, watch that oil pressure gauge if you havent got a centre oil pick up pipe

had mega fun last year but my fast mini isnt gona be ready this year :( most likely be there in my bronze clubby though, not going round the track!

The bronze clubby is back on the road??

Indeed, the peugeots shafted for some gay reason... of course, i will be trying to bring the peugeot anyway because even tho its a mini show after 4 or so ur allowed to take any cars on track and the peugeots nice n fast and handles well, the clubby just feels unsafe, no bucket seats etc haha

I have a question some others may be wanting to ask...
I've never been on a track in my Mini before and would love to give it a try. My Mini is a 1275 SPI Sprite and is in great shape although doesn't have track parts such as a rollcage, bucket seat(s), lightweight (stripped interior etc) and not many engine upgrades currently..... should this concern me or should I not give a damn and just get on the track and have some fun!?
Many thanks =]

There is always a risk going on track, and I think there were a few shunts last year, the problem is you can be minding your own business and someone spins in front of you (think that happened last year and the video is on you tube somewere). But going flat through the first few corners at Combe is ace :) if you dont fancy using your own car though there are normally people willing to take you round in the pasanger seat, and there are normally a number of mighty mini race cars doing charity laps, and I think Bill Richards has had a car there for the last few years raising money as well. So if you dont want to risk your own car you can still have the thrill of the track.

Thanks Steve,

I'm now going with my dad which I'm quite looking forward to, and won't be on the track. I've made the decision to not go behind the wheel as it's just early days for things like that - it is something I am interested in though. I'll be looking out for anyone willing to belt me in (I will be at theminiforum stand). Being at Combe will be enough fun anyway I'm sure. I just know after being at The Goodwood Revival I'll want to be on the track!... I'm sure many of use get like this.

I think most people will be getting there for 9am, I know we'll be arriving by about that time.

We're convoying on the M4, leaving Slough at about 8am, if anyone's interested in joining us?
