so i have finally got round to building my engine, this is just pre warning, its not gonna be a quick build. im funding it myself and for a `16 year old, a engine is going to be a big hitter on my walet, so if im not building it, im working for it :P bear with me:D

so its all started with my nans 1275 GT.

Posted Image

and then the dirty engine.... ran lovely though!!
it was brought by my nan in 1972 and my dad has serviced it its whole life ( including one re build) so we knew the score on most of the bits XD always handy

Posted Image

and then i got it apart and a bit of this happened....

Posted Image

and this....

Posted Image

and then this...

then....

and now!!!

:D love it

so i thought it had to have an engine to suit the looks so out came the engine tuning.
i plan for the final spec to be as follows.
1312cc
268 kent rally cam
standard rockers
high comp pistons
normal con rods but lightened by me
re ground crank
center main strap by minisport
weber 45
7" manifold
large bore LCB
2 1/2 " center exit exhaust
S/C C/R box
LSD
hardy spicer drive shafts
head ported by me to David Vizard's spec in the "tuning the a series engine" book

and other things, cant remember off the top of me head right now..

so current affairs are. block been honed, crank ground and new pistons brought. i have painted the block and will be giving the last coat tomorrow. then will be building the short block in a weeks time:)

Are the arches "bullet" arches ?

If so what rubber trim did you use, they look very neat!

Oh and the garage, I would love that!

white markings is just the glassfibre, it can be hoovered off :P but the problem now is... IM ALL ITCHY!!!!!!! shoulda worn a jumper... oh well man up i guess

and a 3rd coat on the engine but it looks no different, a few more touch up parts and it will be brilliant! pics later of that :P
