Definatly hoping to go this year! Bit of a drive from Bristol but thankfully got some friends in Brighton who have offered a floor to crash on :)

Hopefully I'll manage to go again this year as I thoroughly enjoyed it and the atmosphere was awesome!

Now I hate to disappoint, but unless you lot have all got a "flux capacitor" fitted in your minis as standard, then I fear that you won't all be going this year after all. (Simply because this years run actually took place back in May!! )

Do we all mean that we are planning on going next year by any chance??

I meant this year as in the coming year, for example, I am going out this weekend. Might not be 100% grammatically acturate but makes sense to me :)

do you need to buy a ticket to take part in the run or just to park on the sea front?

Yeah you could just join in the traffic jam of Minis somewhere of your choosing in London, I knew a few people do that last year  But obviously you won't be able to camp at Crystal Palace or park your car up on the seafront at Madeira Drive in Brighton, both of which are much more important to me than just the drive to Brighton!

I don't think you have too much to worry about, as I mentioned earlier I seem to recall that they didn't even sell all the tickets for this years run. As far as I'm aware you need your ticket to exchange for a "run pack" when you arrive at crystal palace, which will then in turn allow you to park on Madeira drive (the sea front) at the Brighton end .

If you don't get tickets for whatever reason, you could always join the estimated 500 or so minis that also take part unofficially each year. (AKA: the tight wad, cheating so & so's that don't pay for tickets!!) Either park outside crystal palace at the roadside and join the run as it sets off, or join it somewhere else along the route once it's under way (i.e as it goes past your nice warm comfortable hotel on the A23 at about 0930 ;D ). Then when you arrive at Brighton, park at the Marina next door and take the short walk through the alley way to Maderia drive and the show itself!

Obviously I would never do such an underhand thing myself, but I am aware that there are others that do behave in this way!! :-
