I just noticed My mini doesn't have reverse/back up lights. How hard would it be to fix this?

You should still have the wiring there, check the wires in the boot..and fit whatever reversing light you're allowed to fit in the US, i would go for one like these:

Regarding engine tuning, i would give the engine and gearbox a rebuild, and fit a 2,95 diff, a good 295 head, kent 266 camshaft and turbocharge it.
Fit disc brakes, rolling on drums with a 80 bhp or more mini is just not safe.
Plenty of power and you will be able to sit nicely at 70/80 mph on the highways

They are Mk3 rear lights, to replace them with later ones is just a bolt on job. You may have to fit a switch to the selector and add some wiring if they are the original lights.
Alternatively you could add an accessory light, a driving lamp to the boot for a bit of retro style, or have a look at Stevede's LED abundant restoration thread. Check your local lighting regulations though.

Thanks, that's kind of what i was thinking. if it didn't have the wiring i was gonna hook a toggle switch and run a rear Spotlight. They are pretty laxed here so I can probably use one from my motorcycle parts bin.
