I have tried to get back in contact with the seller with no results, as mentioned before. The address is now empty, landline is cut off, mobile number no longer in use. The garage claim that the car was not mot'd there as, and I quote, "they are a van centre".

Yeah, that's well dodgy. Shame 1 unscrupullus dodgy seller has put the OP off mini's, I mean it's not the car's fault :)

AVV IT... Where can I start? Have you not been following the posts?

Sorry to be pedantic, but yes I have been following your posts and whilst I may be mistaken this certainly appears to be the first time that you have mentioned any attempt that you have made to contact the seller. The most you seem to have mentioned on the matter up until this point was that:

I know where I stand and know that I will never see the money again.

That aside, now you have elaborated a little it certainly appears that you have indeed been scammed. In which case your experience should therefore serve as a warning and a lesson to us all. I still maintain that you should report this individual to your local trading standards department though. Even though you have been unable to contact the trader so far yourself, they still need to be aware of his actions so that any action could potentially be taken against him in the future, should he resume trading again.

This post was meant for reference, not discussion.

Fair enough, but then to be fair if you come onto a discussion board with this sort of a warning, not provide people with all the details and then make offensive and inflammatory remarks as well (yes I realise you have now apologised for this), then you can hardly expect to not provoke some sort of discussion!!

Just done 100 miles the new wagon. Not quite as much fun as a mini, I admit. But at least I know what I have bought and it goes like stink.

This is my last post as I'm now the, more than proud, owner of a brand new Scirocco R and no point me being here. to be honest, I'm more chuffed now than when I bought that Mini. Each to their own.
(Already contacted Mark and Bec to remove my profile)

Now I'm off to do another 100miles

Love you nan, miss you more. x

Peace and be safe!!!

Anyway, enjoy discussing this amongst yourselves. I'm off to my local V-DUB dealership. At least I'll be comfy, both physically and mentally, when I drive now.

PEACE OUT AND BE SAFE!!! x

Didn't you say it was a VW (van) dealership that may have done the MOT, you are obviously not tarring them all with the same brush as Mini's then!

You can check on the validity of the MOT online

:)

Well if you bought brand new it today you will have lost a good £2000 off its value by now. Fixing the mini would have been a better choice IMO

Could be a cheap Mini going for someone there - if they're the only faults it could be fixed for under a £100. :D

If he loved minis that much then there are plenty of buyer guides on here and on the tinternet. Like you are all saying he's probably just a troll anyway...
