Wonder if youll ever be able to pick up a Bini for £50, like you could with Minis 20 years ago :D

My Dad grass tracked Minis for several years at the Blyton track and other places and his knowledge of Minis, both mechanical and bodywork wise played a major part in me getting mine, so I have no problem with it, so long as perfectly good ones arnt broken just to use on the track :D

personally ive raced ministox for over 15 years at senior level, now got my daughter one, the cars ive used to buld them from have been scrappers, one coming directly from a scrap yard, 1 coming from the forum here being the left overs of someone breaking one to recoupe as much of his invesment as possible, ministox like grasstrackers is a good way to prolong the life of already dead cars that would be crushed, if its something rare like a van, pickup, mk1 then its a waste and really should be restored but unless you launch a save the mini campaign like save the whale then its inevitable that cars will be broken, crushed scrapped.

how many people have broken perfectly good cars as they were worth more in bits than as complete cars? thats where the true shame is, minis have been racing since the 60's and should be kept that way.

i currently still have a mk1 mid restoration that is being buitl as a historic rally car and thats no diffenrt to grass track, sooner or later it will kill the car.

Think i will go and design ny save the mini tshirts now, soon to be found in the classified section.

what about when minis in scrappers become impossible to source? its already increasingly difficult to find one in a scrapper these days.

where will racing minis come from?

I had someone recently come up to me and offered £200 for my taxed and moted 25, just so they could use it for autograss racing.

Shame then that they were at least 2k short before I'd even consider selling.
