My only concern is whether you need to prime the fuel system to fill the carb up before it will start, especially if the car is not run frequently the fuel may have evaporated or seeped back down to the tank, you could then be cranking for ages without it starting. maybe one of the injection relays wired up to the ecu output would allow this to work.
The oil pressure switch may cause the same problem however, but as long as the car does not require priming to start then maybe they would both work fine.

I was going to do the swap whilst my engine is out as my thoughts are the electric is better and easily accessible for maintenance but am I better off just sticking with the mechanical?
Just a standard road set-up

easier to route the fuel lines with an electric pump.

Yeah i bought this one bud, http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1497.l2648 and the same i didn't like the look of the thread, this adapter fits super, i already had one fitted for my oil gauge, so i needed to double it up

i've been looking at alot of 2 terminal switches but none are in the correct tread pattern for the A-series engine
either that or i'm missing something in order to get them to fit.
from what i can see the tread pattern on the adapter for the oil switch and gauge is 1/8 nptf but the majority of pressures switches are 1/4 nptf.
now the only other problem i can see is all the 3 terminal switch have a warning at 8psi which is very low,(again could be wrong here)
i've found the following 3 terminal switches
ROVER
2000 (SD1) 1982-83
2300, 2600 (SD1) 1977-83
3500 V8, Vitesse (SD1) 1982-87
3500S V8 (SD1) 1976-81
Land Rover 101
