Watched it on Youtube a while back. Nice build. I was thinking of doing a carbon roof, bonnet stripes, arches and maybe all the brightwork.

i've watched that programme, one thing that ed china fluffed on was that when he was fitting the new speedo head he didnt mention anything about changing the speedo cable (which he would have needed to do as the cable for the twin clocks is different from the centre clock type)

and this mini apparently had a full m.o.t when mike bought it.....and the first thing that ed had to do was change the n/s rear radius arm as the bushes were knackered!!!!.....so how did that pass the m.o.t??

I also noticed. When he views it. It has alloy t bars on the rocker cover. Later in the show when he moves on to dressing the engine bay up. It has standard bolts and he puts t bars back on.

Also the mileage was about 100+ after fitting the speedo. It was 0 when they got it.

Good show though. Always watching it >_<

did anyone on here see the car sell at mini 50?

the only reason that they vinyl wrapped that car was because they couldent be bothered to sort out the mountain of filler in the front end, so they covered it up instead.....bodge!!

i do like the show in general but i do think that the mini was just a bit of a bodge job......i wouldent have bought it.

I remember reading somewhere they never sell the cars on the shows. Its all staged with crew / family members friends ect.
Also remember they will be scripted so even tho Ed may know his way round cars they may not always be his own words.

Im always watching the show
Just wish i had a garage with a ramp and all the tools to do what ed does myself :)

I remember on a range rover P38 i think the call them..they changed the headlights and one had a tinted outer edge and the other was standard

yeah, thats what i thought, i'm sure that i've seen the same person buy a car from mike on more than 1 occasion at the end of the show, and the guy that "supposedly" bought the green porsche 911 also bought a shop at auction in the "homes under the hammer" programme a few months ago.........he must like being on tv lol...theres a useless piece of information for you!!

I pulled a blinder. Missed it first time, recorded it later that night but managed to record just the first half. Gutted!
Spotted it on the next day (10:30AM) so set it to record the second half. Didn't read the description properly so I watched the first half of the 50th anni one and the second half of the mark 1 they did!

Buyers are unaware it is a Wheeler Dealer car beforehand to ensure that they are not just showing an interest in a car just to meet Mike & Edd or to get on the telly. This is to change from next series according to Mike.

I cannot stand Mike Brewer; he is such a "geezer" who appears to know more than he actually does. I remember he once went to a show in the late 90s (Possibly Mini in The Park?) and he did a thing about buying secondhand Minis. He started talking about the Mini's "chassis". I lost all respect for him from then on.

But like any TV programme it's all about getting the job done to fit the schedule and corners will be cut, along with vast amounts of scripting. People I know once went on a "Changing Rooms" type show and ended up having to pay for a load of stuff themselves to help the show along. Cost them thousands...
