Just a small idea but i think some overriders & bars are quite period looking and complement a car like ac cobras &
minis etc.... Also because its black the idea of bumper bars may be adding to many chrome parts which may or may not spoil it but you could stotch brite/sand down & paint some of your chrome to black or i think a dulled down gray& black theame would look nice (& also keep the retro mod's look).

Good look with the re-style

Regards
clifford

Matt, my car is a black '71 which I am subtly doing in the style of a MK3 S. So verticle bumper over-riders are a must!! The biggest thing I am doing though is, as the car will be used in sprints, hillclimbs and road rallies, is a full set of 70's race stickers ( from isaydingdong on ebay, brilliant shop ) including Castrol, Britax, Dunlop, Minilite, Ferodo and white number roundels as per a lovely old 70's picture I found, think it might have been a John Rhodes car?? BUT all of the decals will be first applied to magnetic sheet so the whole lot can be removed in minutes for a stealthy look most of the time.

If you fancy the late 70's early 80's look then definitely louvred rear window, wolf race wheels, a HUGE CB ariel mounted on the front wing and curving into a massive arc bolted above the rear window! Also go to a sign shop and find out about metal-flake effect vinyl for some removable graphics, they do some mad stuff nowadays.

Basically, I feel like treating my Mini, but I would like to keep the modifications to the styling semi-period.

I've been thinking about Britax styling for ages, but I'm not sure about it. I sort of want to go for it, but I'm looking for other ideas of what people did with their minis in the early-mid 70s really.

Any piccies or ideas much appreciated! :D

M

I'm pretty sure not using the Vuaxhall monster you have under the bonnet!

Yeah, I know it's a bit hypocritical having the VX lump in there and going for period external styling. But hey, that's the way I roll!

I did want to have just tatty looking bodywork with a rusty old roof rack, but I think that with the body being tidied I might prefer this look, jsut not decided yet.

Lee, yeah, that's maybe the kind of thing I'm after. I've got Britax and Castrol stickers on it already, but they're coming off soon. :D

Thankings :D

It's more outside styling I'm thinking about really.

The inside is kinda as I want it really.

What, no 70s shag pile lol.
