If you havent taken one off on the gearbox, then that may be why, you normally get a good few inches of movement on the engine mounts from having no steadies!

Tidy :) Would be nice to get mine to you then yours back to me so I can put it on all in one day or at least keep it to a minumum so rain and crap dont get in my mini. What day would be ok for you? Obviously not tomorrow or new years day, when from then?

If you can get a few inches of movement i wouldnt bother, but if youre regularly faffing with the car its a good investment anyway :)

Why all the talk about 13mm spanners? We keep seeing this error, again and again, on the forum. With very few exceptions (some track rod end to steering arm nuts for a start) ALL nuts and bolts on a Mini are imperial. The correct spanner is 1/2" AF, and 13mm is not close enough.

I don't imagine that you want rounded-off nuts to add to your problems. That would be an engine out job.

You can now get metric spanners that grip on the flats making them close enough. Although there are some AF sizes that don't match up close enough. I use a Halfords professional 13mm spanner daily on Mini's and haven't rounded a nut off yet.
