Haha ! I wouldn't recommend dragging it around the M25 but it is handy to have your whole tool kit
at arms length - especially if it rains...

As a tool perv I would say its difficult because you get a fair bit for fifty quid but I'm not keen on rubbish tools especially rubbish ratchets, no need to go overboard with snap-on stuff but as previously mentioned the Halford professional stuff is much much better, buy cheap buy twice!

Most of my tools have come from Halfords over time, but they have been bought in small doses and some as presents. I have not had any problems with any of them, but most of them are the professional range. I'm not bothered about them all being different sets as over Xmas I bought the 120 quid tool chest they had on offer for 60 quid, so now everything is kept together.

For the money it looks a decent buy. You wont break everything in there, even if the odd thing does break. And it's a decent chest for storing it all as well. I say go for it.

i have one of these and its perfect for small everyday jobs.

the ratchets arent upto much, m yet to break one, but know it wouldnt take much.
i just use better quality ratchets.

I used to work at halfords and have gota say the quality of most of the tools in that box is poor at best, but for £50 as has been said - Its worth a punt if you need the tools.

The ratchets really are crap, very cheap indeed. As are the pliers and screwdrivers - Think christmas cracker tools on a bigger scale.

The sockets and spanners aren't too bad, just don't be too surprised if they snap/round off when put under the force of undoing a stubborn nut/bolt.


The halfords professional stuff is really the way to go if you can get them on offer. The 150 piece set they do is pretty good and the lifetime warranty is pretty much always a no questions asked straight swap as long as they have it in stock.

I work at halfords, the dynamic stuff looks awful, but I can't comment on the quality. The professional stuff is what we use, and its decent quality. Not that much imperial stuff available though.

i bought that tool chest cus it seemed pretty good value, you basically buy it for all the parts that shouldnt break, sockets, screwdriver heads, spanners, the rachets broke 1st time in use on a nut that wasnt overly tight, the screwdriver that takes the different heads also broke very easily but so far (touch wood) the others wont break.
i got the halfords pro socket kit and ive never had any problems with it though and nothing has broken no matter how much force goes through them :)
