I saw this on ebay. They are made in China and Australia. Looks like they are looking to flood the US market with them.

These are not made in Australia
They are only made in China - referred to Chokes in Aus: China-Mokes
They are reasonably true to the original body to the untrained eye, however the floor pan and firewall are different, and they have the ugly side skirts on them.
They are also far heavier than real mokes, as they are made from a much thicker grade of steel.
We have an importer in Australia (Moke Australia), but no one is very fond of Chokes in the moke community here, and there are no Chokes legally on the road.
Only dodgey reshelled mokes.
The engines they offer are a 3cylinder thing, which they charge about an extra grand for I believe.
As a source of spares, they are okay, most parts are fairly true to original, but some are completely different and no very appealing - Like the bucket seats

Depends what you deem as quality.
I prefer my moke light, not a load heavier to no gain

''Several marque and model significant prices were paid in the salerooms during 2011, many quite extraordinary valuations and some of them new auction records. Among the more notable blips on my radar were these results''.
1987 Mini Moke (Bonhams) £19,020

I'm sure they'll find a few suckers. Wonder if I should report this to ebay.

As a diehard I can see that being a bad thing, but as a fan I can see it being good.
Kinda like what happened with the 67 Shelby Cobra.
Origionals are worth a fortune but there are tons of replica kits out their. Good quality ones at that. It's when someone trys to pass off a kit as an origional to an unsuspecting buyer that the issue begins.
