Tried putting my reg in and came up as a FORD COMBI DEISEL beat that

That's a worry, they seem to be using the standard DVLA vehicle database, so unless you have made a typo, if it's registering as a FORD COMBI DIESEL on webuyany car.com, then your reg number is probably registered to a FORD COMBI DIESEL with the DVLA too. It's worth looking into, as the police pulled me over once for driving a Ford Ka that was registered as a Landrover Discovery. After checking the documents, it turned out that the dealer had got a digit wrong when they put new plates on it before I bought it!!

I'm taking my 2003 mondeo TDCI Ghia X to them on Saturday!

They've offered me sensible money subject to them seeing it!

I'll report back

Be careful. They are well known for giving fairly good offers to entice you in. Then when you take it to them, they use any little excuse they can find to knock the price down. I think there was a newspaper article recently that said only about 3% of people were actually given the price they were quoted on the website.

They send a lot of the cars they buy straight to auction, and pocket a quick profit. Why let them profit from you, when you can send it to auction yourself or sell it privately? You'll get a much better price for it that way.

I got an E-mail today reminding me that I only have 6 days left to take them up on the offer of £470 for my 1993 Rover Mini Sprite..... had better get my skates on then!!

Just phoned DVLA and We Buy Any Car.com is not linked to there web site and my car is a 998cc austin mini mayfair NOT a ford combi diesel

Well that's good news then.

But whilst Webuyanycar.com might not be directly linked to the DVLA website, I'm fairly sure that the vehicle data they use still originates from DVLA (As I believe it does for insurance companies, car part suppliers and the AA etc.) Otherwise where would they all get all the vehicle data info from?? I mean who else holds the information of what make and model of car is registered to which vehicle registration number?

..... or maybe it's just magic???

They've offered me 400 quid more than I was offered trading it in, the place where I'm buying the new car says he'll give me the same deal if I trade the car in or give him the cash equivalent!

The car is getting tired and the auto box does funny things when it's cold so I'd rather it just went away rather than having people turning up at my door etc!
