It wasnt ridiculously cheap, but it was a price we definately couldnt say no to.
It'll have to be Jay who lets you know what we need exactly because he's had a better look around the car than i have, and i might be missing little bits off. But as for prices, As cheap as possible as we're on a budget of pretty much nothing at all!

The bits we need are front indicators, rear bumper and a good cream leather interior. And the chrome strip that runs from the top of the grill back across the bonnet.
That's all I can think of now but tomorrow will reveal more!

It would be nice to see this done for bingley but I think you're on a hiding to nothing.
I've recomissioned lots of cars and its a lot of work.
Every water hose/rubber hose/brake part should be replaced.
Rad removed and checked, same with the waterpump.
Ideally the head gasket should be done.
If I were you I'd not try and rush yourselves.
Good luck though!

We aren't going to rush, but we have a good amount of time and with 2 of us working on it, it shouldn't be too bad really, we will strip it down tomorrow morning and see what we have and how it all looks. We aren't rushing for it but it would be nice to have a go!

I have plenty of good spares and so has james, and minispares isnt far away. But it is a very big task, and even if it doesnt happen, at least its given us motivation to get the work done necessary for the MOT :)
The big hurdle is getting oil pressure, fitting handbrake cables and making sure all the electrics work as is, then fitting the clutch slave cylinder and getting that working fine.

Believe it or not I emailed him this morning, I'll probably buy it and collect it Sunday! Good spot though thanks!

Small update. Oil pressure is now fine, pressure sender pipe was split so we chopped half inch off each end and re-fitted. Vac advance pipe was split too so we 'bodged' it to test and it ran well. Needs a tune which we will do after the minispares trip in half an hour.
Done some Pre-MOT checks and it's looking good. Won't be at Bingley though which means we can totally strip it down and clean/paint it. Pictures and maybe a video later tonight!

Quick service done, Video taken and a couple quick pics. Starts and warms up but the water temp gauge doesnt work. We have oil pressure but the light doesnt extinguish on the dash?
And when changing the plugs i had a sneaky look inside, and the no1 piston dish was full of fuel! So thats probably why it still runs a bit lumpy, but sounds pretty sweet at a higher 'idle' speed.
So head gasket off when the minispares order arrives and get the inside cleaned out and have a look at what we've got.

To add to Carl's update above, some pictures
The new shiny bits stick out a bit!
A full engine bay picture of it as it is now.
And the video of it running that I promised you!
To add to the WANTED list, we are in need of some rear light lenses now too!
Electrics tomorrow (my least favourite bit!)

Small Update. Had a shift around of the garage today to give it a new dry home. Gave it a good inspection so now we have a long list of stuff to buy at Bingley. Took the doors off and the windows out so we can get to everything.
Pictures....
All cleaned up, looks much better already!
Garage all emptied of my personal project (for sale as we need the space for the Hornet)
New dry home!
Minispares stuff should be here Monday and we can get the head gasket done along with some other general tidying stuff.
Not far off paint now!
