They're showing as 027 batteries, not 075, or am I doing something wrong.

Sorry for all the silly questions!

Thanks very much Rich. :)

I'll see if the bloke down the local shop battery shop can beat the prices..... if not, I'll more than likely order one with the code you posted. :)

Thanks for all your help!

Chris :)

I'd have to look at how the battery box is constructed and what kind of support and metal we have to work with but I would love to try and fit the battery from my RV in there. They tend to be a bit taller, the same width but the length is much, much longer and weigh at least twice as much...These things are gigantic and you could likely put the car in gear and run it home on the starter....little humor there.

Why would I do this? I would like to get some more weight in the back right hand of the car and practice my welding skills a bit. In other words, no logical reason.

I would have to do the math but I think the Honda alternator could keep it charged.

In my MK1 I use an 069. Mainly because I run a dynamo and sometimes need the extra capacity if I have the heater (such as it is), lights and wipers on.

I’ve got a 60amp, 550cca, 027 in the project mini, that just about fits without scrapping too much paint off. Mine was an ebay special for £35 new but second-hand. As the originally buyer bought it, but turned later turned out it wasn’t the battery at fault so was never used. But unfortunately for him he lost the receipt.

I've got an 075 in mine. The previous owner put in a really tall skinny battery, the cover would barely fit over it. An 075 gives you loads of capacity, and fits perfectly in the box.

Good topic and this was on my to do list of questions! The battery in my mini is absolutly tiny and clearly not for the car and it can struggle to turn over on cold mornings. Bigger 075 battery shall be ordered now!
