Straight through pipe? no back box and a very good cam. POP POP BANG POP.

dont want to have to shed for a new cam, nor take out the engine! cant rid the back box either because it is soo loud!

Unless it is not set up correctly, or speced up it wont be popping really.

hmm, i might have a play with the carb again tomorrow, mates mini pops like crazy and it standard just with a stupid exhaust :L

its not :L standard manifold, then a converter up to 3 inch, 3 inch link pipe then twin 3 inch tailpipes :L

Up to them! but it is just logical to have the correct pressure. And anyway, big exhaust don't look right on a Mini. Stupid!

haha, just have a fiddle about with the carb. My advice though would be to not overly run it lean or rich and adjust one thing at a time, so if it does go wrong, atleas you know what you changed for it to happen.

Mine pops all the time on deceleration and let off, especially amusing when driving through a tunnel, dropping back, giving it some beans and then let off.... Just listen too the pops and bangs! :D
It's a fairly standard 1275, the pops and bangs started too appear after changing the exhaust for a single box Maniflow 1.75 system... My old twin box set up never did it, nor when it had a cat...! Carbs a HIF44, with a K&N, a custom lathed needle and has been professionally tuned... It also only ever runs on 99RON fuel, which seems too make a difference too the 'poppiness'! :P
