So what kind of ebay bidder are you?

Sensible type....Puts their bid in early with the top amount willing to pay and walks away?

Last minute thrill seeker....10 seconds to go BID BID BIDDDDDDDDDD followed by heart palpitations, loss of breath and dizzyness (the bidding equivalent of extreme sports)

Beer bidder....YOU HAVE TO FIND THE OTHER PERSONS TOP BID OR THE WORLD WILL END (my own personal favourite) >_<

Bored bidder....Its the weekend and yet again your skint and not out.....what can I buy for 99p on ebay :shifty:

Wacky Bid Amounts....Part of the fun, I'l bid up to £4013.74 for that car :D

Bargain bidder......Press 'Ending soonest' and go crazy (usually linked with Beer bidding)

Scare Bidder - Putting another bid in straight away after someones bid to scare them out of bidding. You do that in real life, works everytime.

Last minute mixed with sensible. Knowing it will probably jump significantly in the last seconds, I just put whatever I'm happy to pay on it.

Oh and beer :D

I'm lazy - I use Auction Raptor which bids for me in the last few seconds. It was worked well for me over the two or three years I've used it and means that I don't forget to bid and also stops others bidding up against me before the end of the listing.

I'm a mix of all of the above, depending on the value of the items - although always go for a silly bid amount!! won a dash and centre console by 2p using that one combined with a last minute bid...

And I never put in round numbers - If I want to bid around £10, I'll bid £11.11 or whatever takes my fancy.

What about the regret/mistake bidder.

Often I find myself wondering "did I actually want/need that" or "why god whhhhy!!!!"

Aye but I do it sober. I'd accept the drunken bids as they'd be for some uber random things.

I'm definitely a last minute thrill seeker!! :D

I especially enjoy finding items where there is only one other bidder involved, who has had their solitary 99p bid in right from the very start. The other bidder will be convinced that there is absolutely no other interest and that therefore the item will be theirs....... Right up until the last seconds, when I swoop in with a huge sneaky bid and snatch it from under their noses........Mwuh ha ha ha ha!!

... the trouble is that these days thanks to "Bid Sniping" software, I'm now being replaced by a machines that are quicker and more efficient at this than I am!! :(

EDIT:

I'm lazy - I use Auction Raptor which bids for me in the last few seconds.

Tanya it's people like you that are putting me out of a job!!!... or at least you would be if I was actually paid to spend money on Ebay!!

A mix of sensible and last minute. I recently increased the amount a car went for by about £400 in just a few minutes, constantly uping my bet a little bit at a time. Still lost, but the guy selling was probably happy.

I never seem to find the real bargains on Ebay though.

A little tip as well - if you want something, try spelling it wrongly. Some people put something on, spell it wrong and as a result it gets no interest.

If i want to bid around £10, i will put £10.01, then think, no someone else will have done that so change to £10.04. Then think 'what if someone has put £10.11', so change it to £10.15, hmmmmm.... no, i will put a higher bid.....oh the times run out sh*t, should have planned better!!
