Valve float can also cause this.

Its usually accompanied by a thrashy sound from the top end of the engine at the point where the engine looses power, yes if it is doing it you need to avoid it as this can damage the valves and collets, and you can end up droppng a valve into the engine resulting in a wrecked unit!! If you are using used stock springs this is likely your problem.

Hmm. that doesnt seem too far off what it sounded like. What is it meant to sound like if it didnt have that? T'is fairly noisy inside up at those revs.


No they are double valve springs with uprated guides and rimflow valves.

Then iif they are fitted at the correct installed hight it is unlikely they are your problem.
