At last I am making some progress. I've had the gearbox casing chemically cleaned - it was in a really bad state having stood for nearly 30 years with a mixture of water and Castrol 'R' in it.


I managed to find a brand new (very expensive) 3rh / 4th synchroniser as the original was badly worn.

The gearbox internals ready for assembly

First 3rd and fourth are assembled to the main shaft with new rollers

Add 1st / 2nd and the 3rd / 4th synchroniser

New detent springs and main shaft bearings


A new needle roller for the 1st motion shaft

New layshaft and bearings

Main shaft and reverse installed

New centre oil pickup pipe

Oil pickup and laygear installed

Diff components ready

New diff pin

Diff pin and planet gears installed

Crown wheel installed with output shaft for pot joints

New diff bearings fitted

Diff installed

Gearbox complete
