You sound just like my old mum AVV IT. She was always going on about how the french hate us so we have to reciprocate. Trouble was, she had never met and got to know any in her whole life :)
I've never found the french to be unfriendly except of course those that are rude to everyone including other french. There are english people just like that too. Takes all sorts.

Cooperman - Mme govig is a target shooter and wears yellow specs for increased contrast of the target. Couldn't yellow light from headlights give better contrast in the fog? Just a thought........ and yes they are a lot dimmer!

Well living in France I guess you would probably be in the best position to know. Personally I've always found the French to be noticeably less friendly than any other nation I've ever travelled to. Belgium is a prime example of this, I found the people in the predominantly Dutch speaking parts of Belgium to be very friendly and welcoming, whereas in the predominantly French speaking parts it was a very different story. Maybe not being particularly friendly to outsiders is just part of French culture?

You do of course get rude and unwelcoming people everywhere, particularly here in Britain. All joking aside though, I really do have no real axe to grind with the French, the truth is that I'm not at all discriminatory... I actually hate everybody equally!!

Apologies for dragging this thread way off topic!! :shy:

If yellow lights were better in fog, then we rally people would have fitted yellow bulbs to our fog lights years ago, but we don't - not even the 'works' teams.

Yellow gives less visable glare to reflect back in fog so they are better although they are worse when its not foggy.
Even if rally drivers didn't work it out its ok the people who make street lamps did
