For a good example of what would happen if we decided we no-longer will pay the banks back, take a look at Greece. Nice place to live, isn't it?

The banks would not leave! lol

i think we should stop being the police of the world, we aren't a rich country with a empire anymore .That money would be better off spent at home
we also need a sense able green policy,
electric cars aren't 0 emissions
buying new cars isn't green
sticking solar panels on your roof isn't carbon free

Hit the nail on the head ...

I would put on the bottom of this - Stop all foreign aid , Until we are not in debt

i think this is a very valid point that hasn't really been considered. britain is no longer as great as it used to be. i think when britain is asked for aid there knee jerk reaction is to through money in where really they should be investing time expertise an politics.

The country WILL pull itself out of recession, it is moving towards that already and it WILL take time.

Please read all of this before shooting me down;
To start off I DO NOT think that the work houses of old were a good thing but I DO agree with the basic idea. If you are out of work and expect to be handed money to live then you should be willing to work for it. If you sign on once every 2 weeks then that means that for 9 of those 10 days (I would love to only work 5 days a week haha) you have nothing to do. It's not slavery to make people work because THEY ARE BEING PAYED by the government.

The recession is a passing problem that the country has, the attitude is what will ruin it.

Just my 2 pence.

Question remains, when this debt is paid.. will taxes etc be reduced or will it continue because of the next 'problem' that comes along. Zombees etc

I think we all know that the tax etc is here to stay

it's not a bad idea until you go to work tomorrow and your boss says "i don't need you any more, i've got bert who's on the dole and he doesn't cost me anything" ;-)

Greed

Arrogance

Fight of the fittest

We have been smashed down into believe The United Kingdom should be punished for our history. Made to believe we own the entire world for what we've done. For the domination and for the damn right giant of the world. We arent allowed to celebrate our own national day. We have foriegners burning our flag and poppies in london and abusing our police force. Ruining our history for there needs

Its like having your own house and inviting someone to live with you and they start taking privelages, changing to the curtains to theres, watching there tv etc.

Our country..cliche "Sold out", Our nation is run by a bunch of kiss ass, prissy boys who were probably the weak ones in childhood, churchill was the bully, the dominator, the damn right right fist in your face. So was lovely margaret. Now we have combover smartly dressed, all talk, saying all the words to make it sound "fancy" when really all they should be speaking is how the people speak when they eat roundtrees randoms and so spazz who used his hands to talk.

We should stay in the EU but we need to start putting our power and "foot" into places and for the love of god, stop starting bloody wars everywhere and trying to help every idiot in the world and if you start to believe the news then you are a fool. All the wars over in iraq and so forth, we are loosing, we have failed. Thats why we are pulling out. None of this "training" the locals to fights. No thats just an "excuse". The russians failed and gave up with the middle east many years ago so what hope do we have?

Its takes an entire nation and a half to kill one leader......thats one man, he's not frigging superman.

urgh could go on, but it sickens me how they are taking us all for fools

Really? No world aid, no helping any other country, look after just the UK and that's it. What a great way to make friends that is. Politics and relations with other countries would soon break down if we had that attitude. If every country in the world had the same attitude, international relations would be terrible.

Some of you don't realise how good we have things in the UK, take everything for granted. Spend some time in some of the less fortunate places in the world and see if you still have the same opinion.

In the army, we had a presentation the other day about core values. It started by saying that the average civilian has no moral code by which to live their lives - its all about them and the only control is a court appearance if you do something illegal. My first thought was that was a bit harsh. But actually it seems to be true based on some of the stuff on here. Not everyone - I know there are many people who have good morals by which they live. But it very much seems like everyone is all about themselves and to hell with everyone else.

With all the problems we have in this country, it's still better than Africa, most of south America, Russia, China and half of eastern Europe. Stop being so damn selfish.

Problem we have here is that EVERYONE takes the UK for granted so much we can't help ourselves as 'we' are too occupied with helping everyone else. It's not being selfish to ask your own country to put its own people first.

Not really fair to compare us to a 3rd world country, of course we have it easier than them for several reasons. But it still stands we have our own issues and shouldn't be left to dwindle and be shoved further down the line.

Due to he nature of the army and what it does, the places they go and general outlook on things will differ greatly from the average joe who has a mon-fri 8-5 job who might leave the country once a year for a holiday. Us working class folk would like to see the place where we eat sleep and live become a better place.
