My mum has too much stuff in the kitchen so she won't let me 'drag' the hosepipe through the kitchen window and out of the door so I have to use a watering can anyway.. but it's nice to know nobody else can use theirs now either :-)

"make use of "greywater" (such as bathwater or washing-up water) for jobs like washing the car and watering the garden"

Soooo drought in the uk, meaning no hoses, im currently sitting on a balcony in egypt, watching some gardners watering the gardens with hose pipes.... Rainfall here is signifiantly less than the uk, 5mm a year i think it is... And the uk needs to put a hose pipe ban in :s

I haven't use the 'ose since for washing the cars. You can also carry it wiv you for 'emergency' de-crudding.
(V useful when wanting to transport mountain bikes back from a sticky ride).

OK here's the do's & don'ts: http://www.dailymail...-dos-donts.html

apparently you can use a hose to:

wash your caravan, trailer or motorcycle, but not your car!! :ohno:
water the vegetables in your allotment, but not in your garden!!

Im in no disagreement that waterfall has been less, My house overlooks a river and on the other side, a flood plain. few years back, in the winter it used to flood regualy... and it hasnt at all for the last few years. Not to mention the amount of area in this country which is actualy covered over... used to be that it would simply soak straight into the ground but its simply not able to so straight into the drains it goes, which is why where i live, in leam' theres been road works for the past year, replacing all the outdated drains which cant cope with the increased water flowing through the drains... its just not going to where it needs to be, in the reserviours.

still... whats wrong with a bucket anyway?
