wouldn't bleeding it only work if there's air in the system and if there was air in the system it'd be squishy not hard?

yes but if it is seized then nothing will happen when you bleed it so you know it is seized, or if all the fluid comes out then nothing happens when you pump the clutch thats another sign it is seized. but if the pedal becomes free then its a different problem. it will either be seized or the push rod has come off or something jamming it, is the clutch Engaged or Disengaged?

It's possible the plunger has siezed in the ''wok'' clutch cover, although I wouldn't have thought it'd sieze overnight. Penetrating fluid and working the pedal should free it up.

i work on landrovers and the same thing happened overnight to one of ours it was wired because the seal normal goes first, i had to take it off to free it up like you said with penetrating fluid but i put a spare rod in the end and closed the vice on it because it was proper stuck in there cleaned it up and put it back on. i ordered a new one though because the seal was on its way out too

Does it turn over normally, or make funny noises? Just wondering if your flywheel is adrift. That would do strange things to the clutch.

its not hard once you get to it if it is a slave cylinder problem .. 2 bolts thats it and if its not seized just look in and see if the rod is still connected
