Well i work in a garage and the MOT tester told me that you can have it sticking out as far as you like to pass, but the bobbys can pull you over it (something to do with mud and C**p flying off the wheels) So mine will pass no matter how far my wheels stick out lol. Spose different MOT testers do different things and pass different stuff, depends what garage you go to.

He's absolutely right... the MOT does not check for this, only condition of wheel and tyre, and suitability...

It is however, 3 points if you find Mr "I'm having a bad day" Plod...

cheers for all the replys it will be a long while yet till shes ready for the road but hopefully she should get through the mot with the tyres sticking out as much as they do
