:withstupid: Dan's right! There are things that it can't do as well as a modern car and sometimes you'll hate it (normally when it goes wrong) but it just puts a big smile on your face

Nothing's perfect, definitely not a mini!

But cooperdan's attitiude is exactly the right one. Take it out and drive it for what it is. As long as you return home with the biggest grin on your face... who cares?! :D (<- like that)

Am I the only one who thinks that mini`s dont handle too well at all? They grip well at times but handleing is a bit cack.

You need to look at your setup first, have a go in a different one and you might find its your setup which is cack

by todays standards , they probably dont handle that well but then again they were designed 50 years ago , it might be like a placebo effect , with you being low it seems faster and when you put it in a corner your going slower than you think so it will grip well

mine seems to grip alot better now i had the tracking laser aligned , i know there is slight positive camber on my back wheels , but that will get done when i get an engine sorted :)

agree with above statement theres minis and minis

some mini are dreadful to drive

once set up correctly and performance theres nothing better

motorways can be a problem with lower diffs and noise

mine doesnt like motorways loves lanes and roundabouts, doesnt move

If you ever as a kid built something out of junk usually an old wooden pallet, pram wheels (no idea why they were used but they were) or stabiliser wheels, twine for steering.... then pelted it down a hill!

The nearest you can get to that feeling in a car is a mini :D

They handle just fine :proud:

Driving an 850 on the faster roads (more 70mph) I tend to find myself going to find a 5th gear, simply because I'm used to driving around in my Swift (old model) as well. After driving around in the mini though and then getting back in the Swift I try and throw it round corners like I do in the mini but it just isn't the same, instead of riding into the bends I feel like I'm being thrown out of them!

Front camber: -1.5
Caster: 5
Front toe: -0.2

Rear camber: -1
rear toe 0.2

On the last car with 13`s i ran the same settings but with -1 neg camber on the front and 0.5 neg camber on the back. increasing the caster made the car much more stable but meant i had to have arms like pop eye to drive it.

Main issue is with mini`s is the lenght of the front suspension arms. and the rear suspension style.
