Congrats, I got my first mini when I was 16 and was itching to get my license! Was a 1981 City E which is/was 4 years older than me!

You will love having a mini (until it keeps needing welding for MOT's) and will bring you many happy memories, good choice :D

awww i feel left out being 18 and all oh well i can legally drink!!!!

you should be fine going to 5x12 although all minis tend to be slightly different and it depends on geometry and the amount of shims used its quite common to go to 5x12, you would only need to cut the arches properly if you went to 6x12. you could use 5.5x12 but they would not have a 100% rate of fitting i think its down to the mini.

oh and welcome to TMF

Haha banter :P
Out of interest, how much are you guys paying for insurance? Just fell out with my insurance company and looking for a new one..wondering if there are any learner specific ones? I found one but they dont accept cars over 20 years old :(

im with aviva, they eventually took a letter from footman james as a letter of claims free driving for a proof of 1 years NCB, judging by your name your female so i would recommend getting insurance before the eu ruling on equality in insurance comes in.

Halifax as strange as it is, was the cheapest for me, 18 years old and 1 year driving, 650 quid Bargs i thought, considering it comes with good old break down cover, although hopefully i will never have to use it :)

My boy mikey. Its love

you probably wouldnt have received half as much interest from the regulars if you had made that clear in the first place. :P

nah sorry about that, in that case forget what i said about insurance going up, it only goes up for girls.
