Right good news I got the bolt out :D I ground a slot in the end with a tiny ball grinder and got a small screw driver in and turned it out(result) so now I'm still using the repair bracket as the main bolt needs helicoiling when the engine is out next time so that can wait. I also fitted the ultimate steady so hopefully I shouldn't have another bolt failure.

That should be fine until you need to take the engine out. You were lucky to get the broken bolt out. Well done.

yeah i felt I was very lucky with that one :-) I forgot to mention that I also have 2 rear gearbox steadies on so things shouldn't move I cant put one forward of the gearbox as its a 1973 and the sub frame hasn't got the plate :( the vibration is louder but its not a main car so I can live with it just shakes a few bolts loose every now and then so thank you to all that replied with the advice.
