UPS I'd agree with, they are the best. DPD have messed up bigtime for me.
What problems did you have with DPD?
Thing I like about UPS is that the vans are all shelved so your packages don't get crushed when something else is thrown on top. That and when you send something it actually arrives intact when they say it will.

I replied saying that i wanted the packages picking up the same day as there was someone waiting at the collection address that day but i couldn't be sure if there was anyone there on Wednesday, but they failed to reply to this, so i sent another email later on that day asking what had happened when were my parcels being collected, i got a reply from another person saying that the parcels were scheduled to be collected the next day (Wednesday).
well its Wednesday and guess what... thats right no courier, so another e mail sent saying pretty much the same as the last one, and another reply saying that the parcels were booked to be collected the next day (now Thursday). At this point i lost my patience and sent an email back asking them to cancel the order as they have failed to collect the parcels on 2 separate occasions and that the customer services was appalling and that i wanted my money back and i would arrange a different courier to collect the parcels.
Unfortunatly interparcel is now closed so i wont get a reply until tomorrow so i will see what they have to say then....

to be continued

When I rang them to ask where my parcel was they said it had been delivered for and they had my signature. My neighbours had gone away for a week but luckily when they came back they saw the stickers with mini's on it so assumed they were mine and brought them round. They said they had found them sitting against there back door.
Next time I had something delivered by DPD I had ordered an exhaust and paid for next day delivery. I saw the van turn up. Stop momentarily and then drive off. I got sent an e-mail, not even a note, saying that I wasn't in so they would try again tomorrow. My garage door was open and I was under a car. If I had been quicker I might of been able to get out from under it and chase after the van. When they did turn up 3 days later the guy stopped got my exhaust out of the van and just dropped (seriously just let go of it and let it hit the floor) it in the middle of my drive, jumped back in his van and drove off. Again I was under my car so didn't have time to get out form under it and confront the guy. I yelled at him from under the car but he paid no attention to me.
A week later my mum rings me up and tells me that an exhaust had just been delivered. As I had rung up the company I had ordered the exhaust from on the second day when it hadn't turned up I guessed they had sent another one out. I rang them up to let them know (I didn't want to get charged for a second exhaust I didn't need) and they said they would send out a courier to collect it. To this day the exhaust has never been collected and I have never been charged for it.
Anybody want to buy an exhaust?

To be fair i'm sure there are numerous good couriers employees but the local Yodel seem to have a bunch of drivers with the combined IQ of a goldfish. They have enough trouble driving the vans without hitting more than one stationry item a day so trying to get the right parcel to the right door on time is simply asking to much.
I think the best delivery I've had is the one where they put the parcel in the wheelie bin, which I had put out for collection! Luckily the neighbour saw them do it and removed it but I had great fun ringing them up to ask where my parcel was and that if I was apparently in to sign for it why did the card through the day say i wasn't in.

well waiting for a phone from phone 4u to arrive after repair,. Arrived at depot (norwich) at 1446 and despateced from Norwich at 1546hrs...lets see what happens!
Ok pacel has apparently been at the Peterborough sinve 0600hrs on the 19th. Checked on the automated line and apparently it was delivered on the 19th......spoke to customer services and it has not been delivered ..(well I know that) and it has been tasked to an external delivery company due to it "being too heavy and too large" for their vehicles. Er its a mobile phone!!!
Really not a happy bunny as I only live six miles from depot!!! Will be ringing back on monday for an update re the huge monster mobile phone I am now awaiting delivery of.

It sounds like Dom Joly is now working for phones 4u

We've had couriers and the post leave us a note saying that there was no letter slot in our door so they could deliver it. If only they bothered to look a foot to their left they would see a large box with a lid on it nailed to a wooden post.
