had tyres delivered by them, when i said about signing for them he said 'don't worry i'll sort it out'...i said 'well where are my tyres? i haven't signed for them so therefore haven't had them' his face was a picture!!
as for city link they're almost as bad, my money is on rentokill winding them up in about six months still.

I've never had a problem with royal mail, ever! (I send stuff every week)
From now on I'm going to be using city-link. it's always the same bloke and he never has a smile, but the item arrives AND on time!
Problem is their nearest depo to me is 80 miles away, so if they try to deliver to me, (not in during the week), I never get the item.
Also, they tried o return the item saying they'd failed to deliver twice, but oddly there was no cards through my door.
Eventually it went back and the sender used Royal Mail, and I got the parts the next day fromt heir office 400metres down the road.

However, I have used loads of diffierent delivery companies and had problems with all of them, one driver from Nightfreight was seen launching another exhaust about 20 foot through the air onto the back of his truck!!
It depends on the individuals attitude at the end of the day rather than the company as a whole

I generally agree, but can't find ANYONE with a good word to say about Yodel. If you Google their name you gat about a dozen links to complaints/ petition against them. Not something a decent company would accept.
Amazon have said they are starting an investigation about them as they have had 'worrying numbers of issues'. My guess is they won't be working for Amazon for long.

However if contacting Yodel (or other companies for that matter) don't ring their ripoff premium rate number try one of their hidden 01/02/03 or 0800 numbers.
Just search for the company on this site. Quick search for Yodel brings their Freephone number 0800 1577777

Useful site, worth bookmarking

I've never used Yodel so can't comment on the service. I normally use Myhermes which I have found good so far. 20+ packages sent with no issues.

yup, tnt. i use them loads and never had a problem with them.

As some here will know, once upon a time I used to operate the post room at head office of a major national company we all know. I used to handle a lot of stuff, probably several tons in and out daily. We had regular deliveries from probably every courier, although Yodel didn't exist back then we had a lot from DHL. They were by far the worst of the bunch. Somehow our building was on more than one DHL route, and the trucks that delivered to us came from two different depots. One was good and one was bad (I mean really bad, packages torn open and crushed bad). Almost every day one of their drivers would come back to us a second time because something got overlooked in the truck or some other nonsense. It's the same with all of the companies to some extent though. Any networked courier relies on dozens of people in a chain all doing their job properly to get a package to you. One weakness in their systems, one bad depot, one inefficient driver and it all falls apart for all the deliveries that go through that section. You can get good and bad from all the companies. Unfortunately because of the way their networks are built if you live in an area where your deliveries have to come through the weak part of the chain then all your deliveries from that company are likely to have trouble. For stuff we sent out, we used Royal Mail for almost everything and had two specific couriers for other stuff. The Royal Mail must have lost us maybe 3 parcels that I remember out of hundreds and hundreds we sent. Our couriers were excellent, because we used direct shipment companies. Obviously this kind of stuff is much more expensive but if you have anything that absolutely has to get there, always use a direct courier. The parcel stays with one person all the way there and they don't have anything else to worry about.

And it did not turn up at destination on the Friday
But they have said (yes it’s a 24 hour service but it might take 4 days)
How good is that...
Is there a good courier service out there ?
