I tried doing that with my neighbours, they hated my 'loud car exhaust' so they got environmental services around as they put a complaint in saying I party every week smoking cannabis in the garden etc!

I would be looking into that agreement to see how much of a leg you stand on, and if hes right, sounds like you have some ass kissing to do and sort out a time when you can do noisy things, and if hes wrong, sounds like a big petrol helicopters on the cards :P preferably with a smoke dispenser or floodlights or a siren :P

Hello tommypope, I recently had a bungalow pulled down next to me and in its place a block of 4 flats. their front rooms are at the back of the building and about 10ft away from my garage. I phoned the local authority and they told me they could not do a thing about my noise as long as it was between 8am and 10pm. Check your agreement though just in case.

id explain to him that as you are restoring it there will be a time when the angle grinder is not needed. id also tell him that it is not your aim to annoy him only to get the job finished, also that using an angle grinder and a small electric helicopter is perfectly within your rights as well as his. if he has had any building work done then you have just as much right to mention that and how you did not complain,

unless of course you did complain in which case are you surprised he's complaining)
