Soooo, I've been on here a while, and haven't really started a proper build thread yet.. probably because I've done very little to the car since I got it. That'll be changing (hopefully) when I finish school (18th June), because I'm sick of looking at it every day knowing how much I want to change it, and not being able to.

Here's a picture of when I first got it (late August 2011):

First thing I did was get that bitumen off the floor so I could have a look at the rust :)

Thennnn, I needed to sort out the brake setup:

Old calipers and stuff:

Newer setup:

Don't really like the red, but I bought them like that for cheap so I stuck with it :)

My first show was Bingley, so the first wash was for that:

IMG_20120301_173846.jpg

It got setup that Craig was undecided who to go with, so I offered him a lift because I was going... Dennnnnn, we FELL IN LOVE. It was perfect :)

So my first show was Bingley:

Not a great way to go for a first show, but it was worth it. We know why :D

I took my spots off, and it looked better.

Then, we went to the Brooklands mini meet, where I met quite a few people from here.. also, I met Erik who came from Holland.. and his mini Checkie :)

Then after Brooklands there was a small break in the meets..

I decided to change to Mk2 rear lights because they look better, and took part of the rear apart to clean it at the same time:

After that, me and Craig went to Pride of Longbridge to meet all his mates from MetroPower, and we were the dedicated camera car for the attempted world record for the most amount of metros in one convoy.

We broke down on the way, on the side of the M25:

But.. we did get to see this whilst it was all happening:

We stayed in a travel lodge that evening, and went to the services to meet all the metro boys the next morning:

Then, we convoyed there with the metros, taking a video (It's on Craig's youtube if you want to see it), and had an awesome time there too:

So yeah, that's the story so far really. I've got loads of random plans for this car, it'll be going on 10s and it won't really look like a sp soonish. Not sure what I'm doing about the engine, still gotta decide.

Here are a few other random pictures:

It's a bit long, and a bit off topic at times, but yeahhh.. that's basically it so far. This car has so far changed my life quite a lot, so I'm happy :)

Just can't wait to start taking it apart, and getting it how I really want it.

THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Simon.

 this happened. Looking forward to seeing future developments on the car. It's gonna be a right little beast to keep Rita company soon ^_^ I owe a lot to this car :-)

Yea hafman it's a K&N, will be shortly replaced by a stock air filter.. then the engine's coming out and something will be replacing it.

Cheers John :)

because the K&N makes an annoying noise, and is making it run a little rich too :)

Much better off with a stock filter; that's what the engine was designed for ^^
