Just read your OP again, if the water pump impeller fails it can cause a noise but its more of a grinding noise increasing with the engine revs.

good idea - slacken the fan belt - then remove it - & try engine again

Sounds like a plan to me

Yeah it will start and run fine. Just make sure you remove the belt completly so it doesnt get spun round with the crank pulley.

oil pressure may tell you if you have a gauge

do a oil change - or just inspect it (look for silver bits & metal particles) & refill

no the spanner is in the drivers seat

right so here are two video's with and without the fan belt

there seems to be a difference but the knocking I think is still there
it has started to sound a bit exhaust hole like or something :mmkay:

with fan belt

Could be many things, i can hear the audio very verry well, but it can be either the water pump or the timing chain tensioner. It needs further inspection.

Hi
Just had the car at a garage to get a second opion and he said we thinks its big or little ends.
He didn't want to garentee that as he wasn't a mini specilist.
So is there anyone in or near sheffield that could do me a favour and come for a listen to give me an opion.
I will bring it to another garage as well and see what they say.
ta
Lloyd (gutted) :ermm: :!:
